I just found out that the Beacoms lost Josh almost two years ago. When Josh lived in Cary, he was one of my son's closest friends. He was a great loyal friend and a sweet intelligent child. The stories he told about his family were just hilarious. My husband and I adored him, even though he, my son and another friend, James, accidentally set our basement on fire. (Nothing serious; they were burning Pokemon cards.) Although we lost touch with the family years ago when they moved to Minnesota, I am just devastated. The world is a sadder, darker place without Josh.

so...this is over a year old, i know...but i literally just found out. My name is James. I was childhood friends with Josh back in the days of Cary and Briargate Elementary. I found out when I went to visit his facebook profile and saw some ominous comments on there. I was curious and confused so I did a search and found the articles.
Granted we grew apart over the years after he moved, but its still a shock to find out that one of your childhood friends died.
I remember back in 7th or 8th grade, Josh came back to Cary to visit Me and another one of our close friends. We wanted him to come back again next summer.
I know those times, and continuing times must be hard for the Beacom family, but Josh is still with you in spirit. Even though the latter years of his life were spent in Minnesota, I still remember him way back here in Cary, and the best friend that he was. Take care Josh. Hopefully we can see each other again.

(I dont know if this will get posted or not, because its been more than month since the incident, but either way, I wanted to say something)

I can't believe I just found out. It tears me apart just thinking of what you (his family) are going through right now. I don't know if you particularly remember me, but I was over at your house a few times, and Josh was up to get me and Megan at least once a week! Ill never forget all the memories we shared from all the shows we went to together. It seems like just yesterday when we dressed him up like a girl for my halloween party... or when we partied till the ball dropped on new years! Josh will always be missed. I'll love him forever, and we will meet again.

He always made me smile with those little side glances. I love him so much.

I will cherish every momeory until I am gone. I will always miss going to punk rock shows in Minneapolis with him.

Josh was the most amazing person I've ever met. He had a heart of gold, and would do anything for those he loved and cared about. In the two years that him and I dated, I was truly the luckiest person ever to have been blessed with being his girlfriend. He meant so much to me. He will forever be in my heart and in my memories.
