Julia Cone Obituary

Julia Marie (Mitchell) Cone died peacefully at her home on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014. Julia was born on June 5, 1932 in Gladwin to the late Anselm and Sarah (Reilly) Mitchell. On May 26, 1951, Julia married Charles Earl Cone, Jr. in Midland.

Julia is survived by her husband, Charles "Earl" Cone; and five children, Mary Jo (Larry) Lang of Midland, Bill (Lynne) Cone of Pittsburg, Margaret Cone of Detroit, Karen (Steve) Martin of Midland and Paul (Susan) Cone of Saginaw. She is also survived by her sister, Cecilia (Jim) Lichon of Saginaw; seven grandchildren, Chelsea, Alicia, Matthew, Andrew, Caroline, Paul and Heather; one great- grandchild, Avery; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Julia was preceded in death by her infant brother, James Mitchell; and sisters, Rosalie Hamburg, Margaret Rice, Virginia Mathieu and Loretta Kelly.

The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, from St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church, with Fr. Joseph Griffin officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow in Old Calvary Cemetery.

Julia will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered as a devoted and proud mother and wife, a dedicated yoga instructor and passionate friend. Julia's family is grateful for the wonderful care she received in her home from caregivers: Chris, Dawn, Karen, Christa, Sara, Doris; and Lori, Michelle, and Pastor Ron from Hometown-Home Health and Hospice.

Julia's family will receive friends at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home, 4210 N. Saginaw Road, Midland, on Tuesday, from 5-8 p.m. A Christian Vigil Service will take place at the funeral home at 8 p.m.
