Kenneth Lynn Craven, 80 of Midland, died Friday morning, February 20, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center. He was born May 12, 1945, in Lansing, son of the late Jack and Ruth (Grant) Craven. Kenneth received his bachelor's degree from Ferris State College and was employed as a Social Service Administrator with the State of Michigan, having seats on Human Services Council, the United Way Board, Affordable Housing Alliance Board, and the Midland Health Plan Board. In his free time he spent time at the cabin where he would fish and enjoy campfires. He also loved exploring the country by train. He also took great joy playing cards with his grandchildren. On May 11, 1968, he married the former Marilyn Sue Rinckey in Ionia and she survives him. He is also survived by his children, Brent (JoEllen) Craven of Hastings, Jeffery (Jennifer) Craven of Middleville, and Lynne (Paul) Sharpe of Midland; grandchildren, Matthew Craven, Samantha Craven, Amelia Craven, Harrison Craven, Alex Craven, Haley Craven, Madison Craven, Andrew Brandt, Aaron and Kevin Sharp. Kenneth is also survived by his brother, Keith (Jane) Craven of Grand Rapids.
Funeral services for Kenneth will take place at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street. Kenneth's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
