Lydia Heck Obituary

Lydia M. Heck, 104, of Coleman, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility in Mount Pleasant. She was born May 31, 1914 in Larkin, the daughter of Julius and Emilie (Bauss) Hoenicke. Lydia M. Hoenicke married Ferdinand Heck July 12, 1934 in Detroit; he died Jan. 16, 1971. She was an Avon salesperson for several years. Lydia kept active into her 80s with swimming and league bowling. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and sewing, making blankets, doilies, tablecloths and jewelry for family members.

Survivors include her daughter, Judith Gough; daughter-in-law, Patricia Heck; grandchildren, Harry and Kimberly Gough Jr., Victoria and Steve Miller, Jennifer and Mark Lehman, Ken and Shannon Heck, Charlene and Bob Buckles, Michelle and Rob Allen, Cheryl and Andrew Cassens, Christine Heck, Kathleen and Billy Heck; 35 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, George Heck; son-in-law, Harry Gough Sr.; and her great-granddaughter, Erica Paul.

Memorial services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church in Clare, with the Rev. Andrew Ewald officiating. A luncheon will follow. Burial will take place at a later date in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Clinton Township. Friends may call at the church on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. until the time of services. Those who wish may direct contributions to the Coleman Fire Department.
