Marilyn Bober Obituary

Marilyn K. Bober
Marilyn K. Bober, 87 of Midland, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024. She was born July 2, 1937 in Ithaca, MI, daughter of the late Milson and Hazel (Mills) Randall. Marilyn graduated from Ithaca High School and went on to attend Central Michigan University where she received her teaching certificate. On October 25, 1958, she married Thomas L. Bober, and the two began their family together. Marilyn was a dedicated and hard-working woman. While raising four young children, she found a way to travel everyday back and forth to Mt. Pleasant to continue her education. Marilyn's perseverance paid off as it afforded her a teaching position with Bullock Creek Elementary School where she worked until her retirement in 1994. Outside of her devotion to work and family, Marilyn enjoyed traveling with Tom. Together they toured the United States and the world, going on various cruises and other excursions. She also enjoyed sitting with friends and family playing Dominoes and card games, especially 31 where she always seemed to win. More than anything, she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marilyn was the heart, soul, and glue of her family. Her true contentment in life was knowing that her children and family were happy and cared for.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Tom Bober; children, Lori (Mike) Murphy, Steve (Angie) Bober, and Rick (Cathy) Bober; grandchildren, Caitlin (Max) DeFever, Sara Bober, Brandon (Beth Jerome) Bober, and Tommy Bober; and great grandchildren, Harper, Elijah, Anthony, and Mavis. In addition to her parents, Milson and Hazel Randall, Marilyn was preceded in death by her son, Thomas M. Bober and father and mother-in-law, Louie and Laura Bober.
Memorial services for Marilyn will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. My condolences to Mrs. Bober's family. Mrs. Bober was my 5th grade teacher at Bullock Creek Elementary in 1977. I can remember her teaching me penmanship and having to do my cursive over and over and over. I tried so hard and she was so kind. To my dismay, my penmanship is still not very good but she left me with a life long memory. Sending my prayers of comfort to her family and friends.
