Mark W. Pomranky, Sr.
Mark W. Pomranky, Sr., age 60 of Rhodes, passed away on Monday April 15, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family. The son of the late Walter R. and Audrey R. (Wood) Pomranky was born in Midland on February 28, 1964, where he was raised and educated. Mark had been employed as an Environmental Supervisor/ Demolition operator for Bierlein, retiring after 37 ½ years of service. He then went on to work as a truck driver for Three Rivers Corporation for 2 ½ years. Mark loved motorsports, raced motorcycles on dirt & ice tracks. He raced cars at Crystal Motor Speedway, Mt. Pleasant Speedway, and Cherry & Merritt Speedways. His last years were devoted to fishing, hunting and spoiling his grandkids. Mark was always willing to help anyone who needed it.
Surviving is his wife of 37 years, the former Jane L. Schneider, of whom he married on August 2, 1986 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sanford; children, Erica (Cody) Lanphierd, Mark Pomranky, Jr., Matt Pomranky; grandchildren, Gunner, Jace, Rhett Lanphierd, Aliegha Pomranky; siblings, Jo (Jerry) Richardson, Karen Arthur, Ellen (Gale) Sandow, Rodney (Lisa) Pomranky; father and mother in law, Leon and Wanda Schneider; brothers and sister in-law, John (Pam) Schneider, Julie Schneider, Jerald (Bobbie) Schneider; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Merriam.
Funeral services for Mark will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 20, 2024 at Eagle Ridge Church of God with Rev. Bill Greiner officiating. Family will receive guests at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Friday from 2 until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. The family would like to thank MyMichigan Hospice Care for their compassion and care in Mark's final days. Also, thanks to Cancer Services and Pardee for all the support over this past year. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund, or Midland Cancer Services.
