Nancy Gee Obituary
Nancy Gee
Nancy Ann Gee, 82, of Midland, Michigan, passed away peacefully to her eternal home in heaven on Friday, October 24, 2025.
Nancy was born on May 31, 1943, in Phoenix, New York, to the late Doyle and Hilma (Oja) Gray, from whom she inherited her proud Finnish heritage. She was one of three children, growing up alongside her brother Paul and sister Jean (Gray) Howard.
Nancy attended Houghton College in New York, where she studied music education with a specialty in piano. It was there she met the love of her life, Ronald Gee. The two married shortly after graduation on June 13, 1964, beginning a loving marriage that would span more than 61 years.
After college, Nancy began her career at General Electric before joining Ron in Okinawa during his Air Force assignment. While living abroad, they welcomed both of their children, Sheryl Beals (Steve) and Michael Gee (Sarah). Upon returning to the United States, Nancy began teaching music in Ann Arbor while Ron pursued his studies at the University of Michigan. Her teaching career later took her to Kinross Air Force Base in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and eventually to Midland, where she taught at Midland Christian School and Calvary Baptist Academy.
A gifted pianist and devoted educator, Nancy shared her passion for music as a teacher, choir director, and private instructor. Her love of teaching inspired countless students over the years, including her own children and grandchildren, leaving a lasting legacy of music, faith, and joy.
Outside the classroom, Nancy found delight in reading, puzzles, and playing the piano. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, who brought her the greatest happiness throughout her life.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Paul Gray and Jean (Gray) Howard. She is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald; her children, Sheryl (Steve) Beals and Michael (Sarah) Gee; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two more great-grandchildren expected this week.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m.at Ware-Smith Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church, 6100 Perrine Road, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. and the service following at 11 a.m.
