Phyllis J. (Moore) Breedlove, 80, of Mount Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at Isabella County Medical Care Facility.
Funeral services for Phyllis will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at 12 p.m., with Cheryl Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Phyllis was born on April 9, 1930, in Wichita, Kan., the daughter of Madison Monroe and Goldie Tencil (Haught) Moore. She married James Harold Breedlove, who preceded her in death. Phyllis's passion was the West Midland Family Center. Knowing that she'd give it all the time and attention it needed, she was appointed executive director, retiring in 1991 leaving behind an incredible legacy. The Center established the "Phyllis Breedlove Friend of the Center Award" that is given annually. Phyllis's philosophy was best described by a Margaret Mead quote: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." Prior to starting her work at the center, she worked as the treasurer of Greendale Township and co-owned the A&W drive-in restaurant in Mount Pleasant. Phyllis enjoyed dancing, traveling, sewing, and her senior aquacise. She greatly loved being with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Karen Breedlove of Midland, and Kathy (Gary Francis) Breedlove of Boyne City; son-in-law, Jeff Price of Mount Pleasant; two grandchildren, Abbey Price, and Josh Price both of Mount Pleasant; great-granddaughter, Olivia Price; brothers, Gary (Janice) Moore, and Eric (Connie) Moore both of Mount Pleasant; sisters, Belva York, Shirley (Melvin) Foster, and Jackie Cotter all of Mount Pleasant; her special friend, Win Zacharias; and many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Breedlove; daughter, Kristina Price; and brother, Bob Moore.

Belva--
I see tears fall down your face
When your thoughts have turned to me.
Just know that I’m in heaven,
With my Lord, who’s set me free.
No pain or sadness do I feel,
For God is by my side.
The beauty here in Heaven
Is now where I reside.
I know it’s hard for you to cope
For you can’t feel my touch.
But every moment, I can see
And love you very much.
When you are at your lowest
And feel you can’t go on,
Look towards the heavens
The light will be turned on.
Talk to me, just like you did
On earth when I was there.
You see, I’m not so far away …
Only as far as a prayer.
And when it’s time for you to join
Me up in Heaven above.
It’s then that you will realize,
The Golden Place of love.
For here there is no sadness,
Just everlasting light.
Someday we will be joined again,
When it’s time to take your flight.
