Nice remembrances and comments by her friends reinforce how sweet and lovable Raveena was. Till the end she tried to be as cheerful and "normal" as possible, including for her kids. Her family continues to feel the agonizing void of her absence. Even for us in the extended family she will always be missed and cherished.

It's been over a year since Raveena left us but I still remember her sweet smile. She was very friendly and would go out of her way to help others...especially with giving rides to other kids, volunteering at school, volunteering at activities, etc. She was one of the parents who took lead in helping Robotics team, battle of the books team, school field trips, etc. If she didn't see me at one of the practice sessions, she would text me to make sure I was doing OK. She was such a brave soul that she didn't even tell me about her illness despite the fact that I asked her multiple times if everything is fine since I didn't see her during her last few months. I wish I had known about her illness so I could have helped her. Her sweet smile, friendly and helping nature touched all our hearts and will remain in our hearts for ever. RIP Raveena!

Today is December 29, 2014. It is one month since our dearest daughter Raveena Dhingra left for heavenly abode. We wish we could have helped her during her illness. Dear Sandeep, Ravdeep, Amar and Sarab, stay strong and bear her irreparable loss. May her soul rest in peace.

Hello Beta, Thank you for sharing your positive, encouraging words, cheerful spirits, strong will power... - that is when we talked last on the phone. You did not want me (and all others)to be sad or be hurt and equally would not want to see anyone hurt now.
Blessed soul as you were, your Mom chose a very befitting Shabad (hymn) to be sang during the Antim Ardas as she knew that you actually lived upto it:
'JO NAR(U) Dukh(U) MAIN DUKH(U) NAHIN MANAI' (pp.633-634 from our holy Guru Granth Sahib) meaning:
"The man that in suffering feels not affliction;
Is by pleasures, attachment and fear unaffected,
And holds (treats) gold and dust alike; (I) (Pause)
Who by slander and praise is not affected,
Nor by avarice/greed, attachment and pride,
Who to joy and sorrow keeps unattached,
Nor by honour and dishonour is swayed; (1)
Who renounces lure of the world and covetousness,
Abjures lust and wrath -
In the mind of such a one dwells the Supreme Being (2)
That man blessed by Guru's Grace understands this way,
Saith Nanak: Such a one merges with the Lord of the Universe like water with water (that is as river merges into the ocean). (3) (11)"

The impact of our daughter, Raveena, cannot be described in words, only felt. Raveena was the overwhelming joy of our family. She was a very bright and intelligent child. She was a devoted wife of her husband, Sandeep, a dedicated mother of her three sons, and a very loving and caring daughter. She called us several times a week, to enquire about our welfare. Her cheerful voice always uplifted our spirits. She was very close to her sisters, Amrita and Seema, and their children. They visited her every summer in their home in Midland. We also visited her several times.
She was always there to lend a helping hand when needed. She won the hearts of people with her sweet and thoughtful nature. We remember her infectious smile, and always looked forward to hearing from her.
Raveena will live in our hearts forever and in the hearts of all who knew her.She will always be remembered as the thoughtful, caring person that she was.

Raveena will always be in our hearts and spirits. She is a lovely person, inside and out. I will always have good memories--of times shopping, planting the hostas, laying more landscaping stones, having lunches, helping Alex when she was locked out in the garage home from college, sharing your delicious dishes, or just being outside- what neighbors do!

Raveena will always be in our hearts, and spirits. She is a lovely person, inside and out. I will always treasure my time with her- shopping, planting the hostas you shared with me, having lunches, sharing her delicious dishes with us- helping Alex when she was locked out when she came back from college, and just plain chatting when we are outside- neighborly things we do! She was like a sister to me.

Ever loving, sweet, graceful Raveena. You were caring and engaged and fiercely devoted to family till the end, even cheering at the twins' soccer games, looking after housework and attending to / transitioning care of parents in the midst of all the treatment. You praised Sandeep's stoic devotion, helped the kids adjust to a life after you, asked after others and candidly described your condition even as you bravely went through treatment with a small chance of success. It makes your untimely loss all the more poignant. Know that you so brightened the world around you for which you will be ever remembered, and left behind a wonderful family. Raveena and I met while our kids were in swim lessons again...and then connected again a few years later when our kids had tennis lessons at the same time. I am sad to learn that a friend has left us far too soon. My prayers are with Raveena's family, especially her children.

I am heartbroken and devastated by the loss of our dear sister Raveena. She was the most caring, unselfish person and a true gem. She loved her husband Sandeep and her children. Her sweet supportive nature and delightful personality drew people from all walks of life. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and a friend to all. We kept in regular contact and my kids adored their Aunt Raveena. She was a lovely person inside out.
Even though Raveena is no longer with us, her spirit and memories will live in our hearts forever.
