I'm one of the lives "Doc" has touched with his Steampunk creations. Namely his "Sojouner" steampunk mechanical keyboard inspired by the show "Warehouse 13". His passing came as a shock to me, as it came close to me receiving the "Sojourner". It wasnt easy, I had to arrange a work trip to Los Angeles from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to coincide with the delivery and receipt of the Sojourner delivered to the hotel I'm staying as a flight crew.
I never got the chance to meet "Doc". I wish when I left LA back to Malaysia on 21st August 2013, I could've spared some time , sneak away to arrange to meet him. When I thought about this, and how close it was to his passing, tears were welling in my eyes.
He was an artist through and through. And as much as I never got a chance to meet him, every time I look at my "Sojourner", I remember him fondly. All the way from Malaysia.
Blessings and fond remembrance to Richard.

Thank you, Richard, for leading me to your grandmother Marilyn. She misses you and is so darn proud of who you were and the art you created. It was a pleasure to spend some hours with her and to now be captivated by what you accomplished during your too-brief time here on this planet. The world is a more beautiful place for what you gifted to us all through your talents. Thank you, and may you forever have peace.

I have never met Richard. And yet the steampunk creation he crafted for me, show how much love and care he put into his work, and the loving and caring person that he is. The world lost a craftsman, others losts a good friend, I lost a chance to get to know a great man. Rest in peace, my friend.
