Rosemary (Queenie) Rankl
Rosemary (Deleacaes) Rankl returned to the Lord on 3/3/24 after a rich and fulfilling life. She was predeceased by her loving spouse, Richard (Dick) S. Rankl with whom she enjoyed 64 years of marriage. She was the only daughter of Louis and Jeanette (Salerno) Deleacaes. Her parents and older brothers Patrick and Louis predeceased her. Rosemary was known by her childhood nickname, Queenie, by friends and family. She is survived by three sons, Dr. Richard M. (Jackie) Rankl, Robert M. (Vickie France) Rankl, Thomas J. (Jeanne) Rankl and only daughter, Dr. Kathleen (Dan) Oberst. She also leaves grandsons Zakary and Jake (Melissa) Rankl, granddaughter Emily Rose (Felecia) Rackleff and three great-grandchildren, Rowen, Saylor, and Laken.
Rosemary was strong-minded and took on challenges including leaving her home state and country to raise her family in Michigan and Argentina. She loved to dance and was an avid reader, an enthusiastic bridge player, a talented needle-craft artist, and an exceptional cook. Rosemary served her faith community as Eucharistic Minister and Ladies of Blessed Sacrament member and leadership at Blessed Sacrament parish devoting thousands of hours of volunteer service.
The family wants to thank the staff at Independence Village of Midland Memory Care and CorsoCare Hospice for their kindness and compassion. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Fr. Rob Howe as celebrant. Entombment will be in New Calvary Mausoleum. I am really sorry to see this and that we missed services. So many happy Burlington Dr. memories include your family. A favorite was hearing "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" over and over again on the player piano in the basement. Watching your mom direct your dad as he backed the boat into the garage, playing "Spin the Bottle " on the back patio, and of course the "Toilet Bowl." Dad says he remembers the jokes Father Jack told at parties in the basement. Much love and sincere sympathy to all of you.
