Steven Crosson Obituary

Steven R. Crosson
Steven R. Crosson, 66 of Midland, passed away Monday evening, October 11, 2021. He was born January 12, 1955 in Midland, son of Norma (Haught) Crosson and the late Harold Crosson. Steve graduated from Midland High School in 1973 and later attended Michigan Christian College. He began working for Hemlock Semiconductor where he was apprenticed and became a welder/pipefitter. Steve advanced in his trade and eventually moved on to work for Three Rivers Construction. He remained there for several years until being offered a position with Corteva.
On October 17, 1987, Steve married Judy (Jensen) and the two embarked on a journey of faith and love together. He had deeply rooted beliefs that drove him to serve as an Elder for Midland Christian Church and helped him instill a love of Christ in his children. Steve was also very patriotic. He believed in the foundation on which our country was built and expressed his political views which he hoped would help strengthen the nation.
Outdoor activities were a favorite past time for Steve. He enjoyed the beauty of nature and harnessed its bounty. Steve owned 20 acres of land where he could grow blueberries and harvest sap for maple syrup. Always wishing to be involved in some project, Steve took it upon himself to build his own mechanism for boiling and bottling the syrup he produced. His boundless energy always had him on the move and for many years he found joy in golfing the greens, hunting the woods, and kayaking the waters. Steve always cherished the time spent with his family and friends, and for that, he will truly be missed.
Steve is survived by his wife, Judy Crosson; children, Michael (Jamie) Crosson, Katrina Crosson, and Kyle (Christine) Crosson; mother, Norma Crosson; grandchildren, Brookelyn, Kolten, Tenley, Easton, Brooklyn, and Olivia; sister, Barbara (Jack) Harper; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his father Harold, he was preceded in death by his sister Vera (Marty) Mieske.
Memorial services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Axiom Church, formerly called Midland Christian Church, 1264 E. Isabella Rd. Steve's family will receive visitors on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service and at a luncheon that will be provided following service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Axiom Church with donations made payable to Midland Christian Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Directors.

I always enjoyed talking with Steve whether it was about work or our faith. If I asked for advice he was always willing to help. My favorite memory was a maintenance job that required several welds. Having obstructions in the way the easiest way to perform the welds would be with a right and left handed welder. We teamed up for the task. Prayers for family and friends.

My time at Midland Christian Church was enhanced in a big way by the relationship with Steve. He was always
'upbeat', always willing to help you in any way he could. Between his and Judy's hugs and caring they often shared with me, I will always hold Steve in my heart, along with Judy as two people have helped me in my faith walk with Jesus.
God's blessings and comfort to all the family.
