William Franklin Obituary
William F. Franklin, Jr., 80 of Beaverton, died Sunday evening, August 27, 2023, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland. He was born April 7, 1943, in Midland, son of the late William F. and Betty (Droomer) Franklin, Sr. After graduation from Midland High School, William served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1966 as an E-4. William then sought employment with Dow Chemical in Chemical manufacturing, and on March 28, 1969, he married the former Ruth Ann Parsons in Midland. He is survived by his wife Ruth Ann of Beaverton, daughter Angela (Matthew) McKellar of Midland, sons William Michael Franklin of Midland, and Daryl James (Carol Foote) Franklin of Sanford; grandchildren, Max McKellar, Alexis McKellar, Mitchell Franklin, Hunter Franklin, Michael Foote, and Shaelynne Fink; niece Dana Strayer, nephew Eric Strayer, and a sister Suzanne (Steve) Strayer of Midland.
Funeral services for William will take place 11 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2023, from the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street, with Pastor John Pohanka officiating. William's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Cancer Services of Midland, the Open Door of Midland, or Shelterhouse of Midland.
