Gene Faulhaber Obituary
Gene was born May 4, 1948, to Muriel and Sylvester Faulhaber. He grew up in Kasson, MN, and attended Kasson-Mantorville schools, graduating in 1966. Gene attended Rochester Community Junior College, worked for the Minnesota Highway Department, and Ellerbe Architects in St. Paul, MN, before starting a life-long career of installing flooring. He installed flooring for Hudrlik Furniture, Nelson Decorating, both in Owatonna, MN, and Holomak Interiors and Bisek Interiors both in Montgomery, MN.
Gene attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's witnesses from a young age and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in March 31, 1962. In 1971 Gene was united in marriage to Linda Kallestad of Rake, IA.
Gene was affectionately known as "Uncle Geno" by friends, nieces and nephews and his children's friends. He was well known for his willingness and joy in helping others, especially to fix their cars or to help them shop for a car. As of 2018, Gene had owned 101 different cars; we lost track after that. As a child he loved to take apart anything that he could get his hands on and then attempt to put it back together; that trait for fixing things remained throughout his life. He found joy in family camping trips and taking road trips throughout the US.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Douglas and Denny Faulhaber. He is survived by Linda and their three children, Andrea Faulhaber of Menlo Park, CA, Mitchell Faulhaber (Sarah Parker) of Medina, MN and Daniel Faulhaber of Owatonna, MN. He is also survived by his sister Judy Fix (Steve), sisters-in-law Joan Dorsett and Effie Hanson (Lyn) along with many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. He will be very much missed by all.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm (CST) on Saturday, February 1st at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses; 800 Robinswood Place; Owatonna, MN 55060.
