Owatonna - Vonna Dinse passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, at her home in Owatonna, MN, surrounded by family.
Friends may greet the family on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Brick-Meger Funeral Home (1603 Austin Rd, Owatonna) from 4:00-7:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 15, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church (2781 SW 92nd Ave, Meriden, MN), with visitation continuing at 9:30 AM prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
Vonna was born November 18, 1968, in Fridley, MN, to Ronald and Arleen (Malberg) Fredricksen. She attended high school in Forest Lake and graduated with the class of 1987. In high school, marching band was a big part of her life, including being able to march in the Rose Bowl parade. Vonna attended Mankato State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in teaching. She went on to earn a master's degree from St. Cloud State University and an administrative licensure from St. Thomas University.
Vonna was united in marriage to Jeff Olson in 1995, and together they had two children. They later divorced. Throughout her career, Vonna taught at Willow Creek in Owatonna, Jefferson Elementary in Faribault, MN, worked as a school administrator for the Faribault Area Learning Center, and later worked at the Faribault Middle School as an instructional coach. Most recently, she returned to teaching at Jefferson Elementary.
Vonna was married to Keith Dinse on March 18, 2011, at St. Paul's Lutheran in Meriden. The couple made their home on a farm in Meriden Township.
Vonna's life interests included reading, crafting with her friends in her "hen house", spending time floating in the water on sunny days at the cabin and tolerating Keith's jokes! She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Women's Circle.
Vonna is survived by her husband, Keith; children: Mallory Olson (Jordan Willert) and Adam Olson, both of Owatonna; Sara (Troy) Kubista, of Farmington, MN, Jenny (Marcus) Anderson, Iowa; and John Dinse (Johanna Halloway), Owatonna; seven grandchildren; mother-in-law and father-in-law Sandy and Ken Dinse; sister Vicki (Jason) Shawd, of Bloomington, IL; niece Kiana (Kyle) Johnson; and nephew Evan Shawd.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Memorials are preferred to Saint Paul's Lutheran Church.
