Carolyn Jennings Dunn Reid, 87, of Cunningham, passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024.
Carolyn was born at home in Bardwell on Dec. 1, 1936, to the late Hugh Lindsey Jennings and Jessie Mae Nelson Jennings.
She was a member of Mississippi Baptist Church in Bardwell. Carolyn worked many years as an Emergency Medical Technician and a CNA at ICF Nursing Home. She was also a bookkeeper for Rowlands Auto Shop and a secretary for Kentucky Farm Bureau. Later in her life, Carolyn loved volunteering at Countryside Nursing Home and was a caregiver for her parents and in-laws.
She was actively involved with her husband Joe in the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Purchase Aerie local 4464 Mayfield, where she served as the Auxiliary secretary for 10 years. She loved people and always had a smile on her face. She always had a kind word to say to anyone she met, but most importantly, she loved her family.
Carolyn is survived by three daughters, Karen Provow and husband Tim, of Cunningham, Susanne Marsidi and husband Paul, of Daytona, Florida, and Janet Stewart and husband Larry, of Franklin, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Kendra Carter Hayden and husband Andy, Kirstin Carter Futrell and husband Chance, Travis Provow and wife Erin, Tyler Provow and wife Ashley, David Marsidi and wife Michelle, Audrey Marsidi Spaduzzi and husband Dylan, Brittany Stewart Morgan and husband Scott, and Brock Stewart and wife Katie; 15 great-grandchildren, Payton and Parker Hayden, Nolan and Nadalyn Futrell, Harper and Hallie Provow, Norah, Becks and Judd Provow, Luke Marsidi, Winston Spaduzzi, Caden and Ryan Morgan, Layton and Colby Stewart. Carolyn shared very special relationships with her younger cousins, who spent every summer on the farm with her parents.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Thomas Reid; three baby brothers, David Lindsey Jennings, James Edwin Jennings, and Jerry Wayne Jennings; a grandchild, LaCresha Carter; and her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Greg Terry officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at the funeral home.
