Emma Lavonne Sellers (née Wheeler) was born on Oct. 28, 1943, to Jeff and Emma Lambdin Wheeler, and passed away at home on Oct. 5, 2025.
After graduating from Deer High School in Arkansas in 1961, she attended Arkansas Tech, where she played basketball. She proceeded to earn her degree in business and taught high school typing and shorthand in Leavenworth, Kansas.
She dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized on April 3, 1971. About a year and a half later, she entered the full-time ministry in September of 1972. She loved nothing more than talking about God in the door-to-door ministry and helping others to learn about Him and His Kingdom. During her more than 45-year career as a regular pioneer, she assisted many to the point of dedication and baptism.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Thomas Sellers; three children, Chris Neal, Chad Neal, and Shelley Hollingsworth; three stepchildren, Sherry Frye, Tricia Hollister, and Kristie Sellers. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her first husband of 29 years, Larry Neal, who died March 25, 1993, and her brother, Jeff Washington "J.W." Wheeler, who died Oct. 15, 2005.
Her memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. CST Sunday, Nov. 9, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3035 Parker St., Paducah, Kentucky 42003.
