Louis B Lynn, 80, of West Paducah, passed away at his home on Wed., Dec. 25, 2024, surrounded by family.
A lifelong resident of McCracken County, Louis was born on May 29, 1944, to Arlie "Doc" Lynn and Evelyn "Irene" Nace Lynn.
Louis grew up helping on his family farm. He attended the then one-room Concord Elementary School before graduating from Heath High School, where he played baseball. He went on to attend Paducah Junior College. In 1966 he married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Cathey and they resided in the home he and his brothers built. He worked as an insulator at B.F. Goodrich.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends. He could often be found on the lakes and rivers of West Kentucky.
He was a long-time member of Spring Bayou Baptist Church, where he was the choir director for numerous years. He loved fellowship with others, was quick with a joke, and was never at a loss for words.
Louis is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sandra; daughter Rachel Dodson (Mark) and grandchildren Mallie (great grandson Phoenix) and Blake Dodson; son Nathan (Dixie) and grandchildren Samuel and Rosabelle Lynn; brother-in-law Paul Roof of Paducah; sisters-in-law Zannie Lynn of Paducah and Janice Dowdy (Dicky) of Fairhope, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Alice Lynn Roof and Beverly Kay Lynn; and five brothers, Freddie Lynn, Frankie Lynn, Randall Lynn, James Avery Lynn, and Royce Ray Lynn.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, with Rev. Tim Bertram officiating. Burial will follow at the Spring Bayou Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., leading up to the funeral service.
