Norma Morris Owens Rebik

Norma Rebik Obituary

Norma Morris Owens Rebik, of Paducah, 98, died on Dec. 13, 2023, at Kentucky Masonic Homes in Louisville. She is survived by her children, Claudia Robertson (George) of Louisville; Celia Owens of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and David Owens of Louisville; four grandchildren, Ben Robertson, Jason Robertson (Tracy), Cooper Robertson (Stephanie) and Lucy Freiburger; and six great grandchildren. She was a member of Lone Oak Baptist, and later First Baptist Church, in Paducah.

Born at home in Lone Oak, April 11, 1925, weighing less than three pounds, she grew into a feisty and talented child. Married to David Jackson Owens of Hendron, they lived in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, until after his death at age 36. Then she returned to Paducah with her children and worked and attended Paducah Community College. After her children were grown, she enjoyed teaching Sunday School, going on church trips, and dancing.

After marrying Joe Rebik, who also graduated from Lone Oak High School, they eventually moved to Louisville, where he died several years ago. Until a few months ago, she lived in Independent Living at Arcadia, in Louisville, where she made many new friends.

She will be buried at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens near Lone Oak, where a graveside service is planned for sometime in January. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church.

Arrangements are handled by Newcomer East Louisville Chapel Funeral Home.
