Sharon Henneke Obituary

Sharon Ann Bradley Henneke, known to those who loved her as Sharon, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, in Paducah, at the age of 82. Born on Sept. 22, 1942, in Kirksville, Missouri, and living her adult life with her parents in Owensville, Missouri, Sharon's warmth and vivacity left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.

A proud alumna of the University of Missouri, Sharon carried her passion for learning into her career as an educator, touching the lives of countless students over the years with her wisdom and kindness. After receiving her bachelor's degree, Sharon married her husband, Don Henneke in Owensville, Missouri, and she furthered her studies at Murray State University, attaining a master's degree after moving to Paducah in 1966 with her husband, who was employed with B.F. Goodrich. With her education in hand, Sharon devoted herself to the McCracken County School System as a dedicated school teacher, where she retired after a fulfilling career.

Beyond her professional commitments, Sharon embraced life with gusto and a sense of community. She was a member of the United Church of Christ, living her Christian values every day through service and fellowship.

Sharon's vibrant personality shone not only through her professional and religious life but also in her many interests. She was an avid card player and valued member of the Paducah Duplicate Bridge Club, where she enjoyed the camaraderie of the game and the friendships she built at the table. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her regular golf games at the Calvert City Country Club, where she could be found playing her favorite holes and laughing along with friends.

Travel also held a special place in Sharon's heart. Don was transferred to Korea with his work, and Sharon would visit him and they would travel Korea and to European countries. Together, they explored various cultures and landscapes, making memories that would remain precious to her throughout her life.

In every aspect of her existence, Sharon was a joy and positivity, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. Her infectious laugh, enduring optimism, and the unwavering love she had for her family and friends will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege to know her.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 60 years, Don D. Henneke; son, Timothy Bradley Henneke and companion Tina Mundy of Paducah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. George Bradley and Hazel Dunn Bradley.

Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Katy Minnis officiating. Inurnment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
