Ercel Timmons Obituary
She was born in Union County on Jan. 13, 1922, to John Pearl and Ruby Gayle Riggins.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Thomas E. Timmons. Her siblings, Reece Riggins, Jack Riggins, Audrey Clontz, and infant sister, Dennis Fern Riggins, also passed before her.
She is survived by her three loving children, Ronald Timmons (Debby), Keith Timmons (Bronwenn), and Kathy Catoe (Sam), all of Pageland. She enjoyed her five grandchildren, Emily Sneed (Greg) and Megan Threatt (Mike), both of Pageland, Joni Deyton (Casey) of Newman, Ga., Britt Pigg (Caleigh) of Rock Hill, and Brad Pigg (Jessica) of Pageland; eight great-grandchildren, Chloe McKenzie Threatt, Christian Morrell Threatt, Katelyn Elizabeth Pigg, Kenzie Grace Pigg, Kolton Bradley Pigg, Taft Riggins Pigg, Harper Leigh Deyton and Nora Ann Deyton; two step-grandsons; and six step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Lura Baker (Bill) of Matthews, N.C., Johnsie Raborn of Charlotte, and Joyce Thomas (Keith) of Marshville, N.C.
Mrs. Timmons was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved her church and spent many years visiting and sending cards to the members of her church and those in need in the community. Her love for flowers was a gift to many, as she always kept her porch colorful and inviting for all to enjoy.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Timmons were held on
Saturday, Nov. 10, at Philadelphia Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Carroll Anthony, followed by a burial in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends and loved ones immediately following the service in Philadelphia Baptist Church Family Life Center.
The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Philadelphia Baptist Church Building Fund, 5709 Philadelphia Church Road, Marshville, NC 28103, or to Springhill Assisted Living, 514 Gum St., Pageland, SC 29728.
