Dolores Emily Martin

Dolores Emily Martin, a longtime Watsonville resident, died on June 14, with family by her side. She was 95.

Mrs. Martin was born on Jan. 17, 1926, in Lemoore, California to Frank and Emilia Cardoza.

Mrs. Martin was devoted and caring. At a young age, she helped take care of her family, while also attending school and helping out on her father's farm. She was an excellent seamstress and baker. She had superb self-taught kitchen skills, and she used these talents to spoil her children and grandchildren with an abundance of baked goods.

On Nov. 24, 1946, Mrs. Martin married Joseph F. Martin. They were happily married for 44 years until Joe's death in 1990. They are reunited at last.

Mrs. Martin was feisty and clever, yet most of all she was selfless and dedicated to her family.

Mrs. Martin is survived by her three children, Gerald Martin, Jeanette Roumimper and Theresa Carl, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her three older brothers and a younger sister.
