Elpidio Morales Bugayong

Elpidio Morales Bugayong passed at Sacramento VA Hospital on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at the age of 90.

A native of Philippines, Mr. Bugayong spent the last three years in Rancho Cordova with his daughter Clarissa and her family. But most of his life was spent in Watsonville where he and his wife raised their 5 children. He was a loving husband who lost his wife Judith of 43 years in 2002, also losing his youngest son Ben in the same year. 

Despite hardships and the loss he experienced, he continued to be strong willed and dedicated his life for his family. He was well respected, honored, and very much loved by those who knew him. He enjoyed fishing, relaxing to Hawaiian music, but most of all he loved time spent with family. He was a retired Veteran who served the U.S. Army for 20 years, then Civil Service for additional 20 years. 

Mr. Bugayong is survived by his four remaining children, Stephen of Yuba City, Pete and Eddie, both of Watsonville; Clarissa of Rancho Cordova, 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept 18th, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mehl's Colonial Chapel. A mass will be held on Monday, Sept 19th, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church at 10 am, followed by a burial at Valley Cemetery. Afterwards a reception will be held at Corralitos Community Center.
