Isaias Gomez Obituary
Born on December 28, 1938, in Coalcomán, Michoacán, Mexico, Isaias was a man full of life, love, faith, and generosity. Guided by a deep belief in God, he lived each day with humility, gratitude, and a steadfast commitment to hard work and perseverance.
Determined to provide greater opportunities for his family, he immigrated to Watsonville, where he worked tirelessly in the agricultural fields of the Pajaro Valley. Over the decades, he labored in apple orchards, raspberry and strawberry fields, vegetable farms, and nurseries-earning the affectionate nickname "La Máquina" (The Machine) from his coworkers for his incredible work ethic. He often reminded his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that "with hard work, anything is possible."
After retiring, Isaias continued to find joy in cultivating his garden and caring for his fruit trees. He loved spending time with his family, watching boxing and professional wrestling. His devotion to the land reflected his patient spirit and his belief in the beauty of growth-both in nature and within his family.
Known for his warmth, charisma, and deep appreciation for Mexican music, Isaias brought joy wherever he went. His laughter, funny stories, and love of ranchero music filled every gathering with happiness and life.
Family was always at the heart of who he was. He cherished the long road trips he took with his beloved wife and treasured every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Edelmira Gomez; his children, Isaias Jr., Andrea, Elvia, Javier, Ramon, Daniel, Irma, Maribel, and Luis; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Eduvijes; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Evaristo and Cesar Gomez; his daughter, Maria Irma; his parents; and nine of his siblings-Edelmira, Elidia, Genoveva, Josefa, Elena, Apolinar, Bonifacio, Maximiliano, and Enrique.
Isaias's love, strength, and enduring faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Mehl's Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
