James Goates Obituary

James Christopher Goates, also known as Butch, Goatie and GOGO, died surrounded by his family on Nov. 20 in Albany, Oregon. He was 73.

Mr. Goates was born May 19, 1948, in San Luis Obispo. He was a truck driver since he was 19.

He is survived by his wife Norma Goates and four stepchildren, Patricia Francis, Daniel Clark (Kris), Pamela Weaver (Daniel) and Timothy Clark.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, James Clark.

A visitation service will be held at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel at 609 Main St. in Watsonville on Dec. 8, from 5-9pm.

A chapel blessing will take place at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel on Dec. 9 at noon, with a reception to follow at 2pm at the Elks Lodge at 121 Martinelli St. in Watsonville.

The burial will take place at Valley Public Cemetery at 2445 East Lake Ave. in Watsonville on Dec. 10, at 10am

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carroll Family of Ave Maria Memorial Chapel.

He would come thru the truck yard and say hello to everyone.
He was always willing to offer advice or lend a hand.
I'm sorry you all have to miss him.
