Patricia "Pat" Gavin

1951 - 2025

Patricia "Pat" Gavin passed away on March 24, 2025. She was 73.

A lifelong native, Pat grew up on Emme Lane in Freedom with her parents and brothers, before meeting her forever love, Richard Gavin and starting their own family. After the birth of their first child, they bought their home in Mesa Village and had three more children.

Throughout her life, Pat made many lifelong friends. If you grew up in Watsonville, went to school at Amesti Elementary or Calabasas schools, and played Little League, Pat most likely touched your life.

Pat loved people and her work reflected that, whether as a Teacher's Aide for special needs classes, as a Yard Duty at Amesti Elementary, or in the American Little League as a manager for the Padres. Most recently, she worked caring for elderly people in the community as if they were her own family. Pat loved everyone and will be greatly missed by her immediate and extended family alike.

Pat is survived by her children, Scott, Tim (Coral), Misty, and Stacy Gavin, her grandchildren, Cris, Ricky, Jason, Andy, Evan, Kayla, and Mariza, as well as one great-granddaughter, Mia. She also leaves behind her brothers, Rick (Michelle), David (Claire), and Robert (Sandra) Gouker. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, Richard Gavin, her parents, Frank and Murrieta Gouker, and her brother, Charles Gouker.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at Church of God ~ 48 Atkinson Lane, Watsonville, on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 10am. A potluck will follow at Pat's home ~ 165 Roberta Drive, Watsonville. A gofundme page has been set up for her medical and other expenses.
