Rosa Torres

1930 - 2025

Rosa Rodriguez Torres, a resident of Prunedale, passed away peacefully at her home on October 14, 2025, at the age of 95.

Rosa was born in Tamazula, Jalisco, Mexico, on September 8, 1930, to her parents, Agustin Rodriguez and Maura Moreno. She came to the United States as a young woman in the mid-1950s. She met and married her husband, Rodolfo Torres, and together they raised their 5 children and shared 30 wonderful years until his passing.

Rosa worked in agriculture and, alongside her husband, traveled all over California, from Sacramento, Redding, to the Imperial Valley, and Brawley. She also worked for several years as a line worker in a local cannery.

She took pride in taking care of her family and her home. She loved spending time in her garden, tending to her plants. She enjoyed crocheting and watching soap operas. She was very proud of becoming a US citizen and having the privilege to vote. Most of all, Rosa loved spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Rosa was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be missed deeply by her loving family and friends.

Rosa is survived by her son, Hector Torres, and her only daughter, Ann Flores. She also leaves behind 24 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and her daughter-in-law, Juanita Torres. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodolfo Torres, and her sons, Rosendo, Rudy, and Sergio Torres.

A viewing and rosary will be held at Mehl's Colonial Chapel on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The rosary will start at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 10:00 am, with the burial to follow at Pioneer Cemetery.
