Basil Shaw Obituary
Weirton, WV - Basil Duane Shaw 82 of Weirton, WV died peacefully on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Weirton Geriatric Center in Weirton, WV
Born on June 13, 1935 in Wayne County, IN a son of the late George A. and Ellen (Brubaker) Shaw. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby (Harrison) Shaw; two sons, Roger Abner Shaw on July 19, 2016 and Daniel Shaw; and his brother Keith Shaw.
Basil graduated from Hagerstown High School and went onto serve in the Army during the Korean War and upon returning went to Nazarene Bible College in Colorado. He served as a pastor of the Nazarene Church for many years at the Paris Nazarene Church and the Calcutta Church of the Nazarene as well as the Liberty Church of the Nazarene in Liberty, IN.
He is survived by one son, Basil Duane Shaw of Richmond, IN; and four daughters, Rebekah (Craig) Christy, Rachael (Ricky) Blackburn, Jane (Peter) Meyers, and Kelly (Jeff) Spitler all of California; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Shaw of Steubenville, OH; Tim (Jeanne) Shaw of Flemington, NJ; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
A graveside service will take place on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 1:00 PM in West Lawn Memorial Gardens in Hagerstown, IN. with Rev. Harold Bolby officiating.
