Arlene McKinney Obituary

Arlene Francis McKinney born in Everett, Massachusetts, March 4, 1937, to Michael and Rena (Bronti) Giordano. She went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
After graduating from Everett High School, Arlene went to work for John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston, Massachusetts, as a typist.
She met the love of her life Ronald C. McKinney, who at the time was in the Marine Corps. They began as pen pals for a year while he served in Korea meeting each other for the first time March 17, 1955, and the rest is history.
Ronald and Arlene married on February 12, 1956, then moved to Crescent City, FL, for a short time. They settled into Palatka to start their life together, where they built their home and family. Arlene and Ronald raised three children together: sons, John M. McKinney of Palatka; and Ronald W. (Elizabeth) McKinney of Palatka; daughter, Kathleen (Peter) Natale of Palatka; granddaughter, Stephanie Phelps of St. Augustine; grandson, Stephen Drackett of Bradenton; granddaughter, Monica Smith (Adam) of Palatka; and granddaughter, Erica Norris (Jonathan) of Palatka; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Ethan, Morgan, Bryson, Emma and Aiden.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald C. McKinney, who she shared 64 years and 2 months of marriage with; her parents, Michael and Rena Giordano; two brothers, Robert and William Giordano, all of Everett, Mass.
Arlene was a loving and very devoted wife, mother, (Nana) grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always there for them.
She loved her husband and enjoyed traveling together after his retirement. She enjoyed word puzzles, tending to her plants, sitting on the porch and feeding the birds and squirrels. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
She will be missed greatly by her family.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Southside Baptist Church with Pastor Shaun Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill West Cemetery.
Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 2920 Browns Landing Road, Palatka, FL 32177. Friends are invited to sign Arlene's online tribute page at: themastersfuneralhome.com.
