Arthur Aubrey "Tripp" Annis Sr.

Arthur Aubrey Annis Sr., "Tripp," 74, of Palatka, passed from this life on Monday, August 4, 2025, surrounded by many of his loved ones. 
Born in Adel, Georgia, he had been a lifelong resident of Putnam County. Art was a 1970 graduate of Palatka South High School, where he excelled in athletics, having played baseball, basketball and was an all-star quarterback. 
At an early age, Art began learning the construction business working alongside his father and became a skilled carpenter who dedicated 44 years in being a true craftsman in building quality homes in Palatka and all over the state.  
For the past 16 years, he served as a state lock tender at the Buckman Bridge and Locks. Art loved hunting and thoroughly enjoyed any time he could spend enjoying the woods and running dogs. There is still a place known as Arthur Oaks named after him in Roy Road Hunting Club. He also enjoyed fishing, shooting and received his greatest joy when spending quality time with his family and especially his grandkids. 
Art spent many years coaching his sons and other kids in Pop-Warner football and Little League baseball. He loved helping young kids throughout those years. He was considered like a father to many of those kids. Art attended Renewing Faith Ministries (formerly Barn Church). 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Annis and Dorothy Williams "Dot" Annis; and his grandparents, Grace and Armond H. Lamb.
Art is survived by 2 sons, Art Annis Jr. of Palatka and Austin Annis (Marisa) of Federal Point; 2 brothers, Wayne R. Annis (Lanelle) of Palatka, Tommy C. Annis of Jacksonville, a sister, Dana A. Gornto (David) of Hollister; and 5 grandchildren, Cayden Annis, Camren Teuton Annis, Colton Annis, Arthur A. "Tripp" Annis III and Ava Grace Annis, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services celebrating Art's life will be at 10 a.m.  Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor Ken Elliott officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill East Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
