Herminio Jesus "Herman" Roig

Herminio (Herman) Jesus Roig, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, abuelo passed away peacefully from an extended illness on October 3, 2025.
Born on December 7, 1947, Herminio began his life journey in the Isle of Pines, Cuba. At the age of 12, he immigrated with his family to the United States on September 11, 1960, in search of a brighter future.
In the United States, Herminio built a legacy of determination and excellence. He graduated with honors from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and worked various jobs before joining Florida Power and Light. Starting as a meter reader, he progressed to Lead Specialist over 31 years, demonstrating versatility and commitment throughout his career.
Alongside his professional accomplishments, Herminio was admired for his artistry, especially in jewelry and glasswork. He crafted cherished items with skill and creativity, and also excelled at fishing, tennis, and tying flies, showing a lifelong love of learning and adventure.
Herminio is survived by his devoted wife, Rhonda Marie Roig, whom he cherished throughout their 53 years of marriage. He is also survived by his loving daughter, Dr. Krystal Roig-Palmer whom he treasured deeply and held in the highest affection. He is survived by his brother, Fernando Lorenzo Roig; and his sister, Ana Maria Waldman. Herminio's legacy extends across generations, as he was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, and a cherished abuelo to his grandchildren. His warmth, guidance, and love touched the lives of great-nieces and great-nephews as well, creating a family network filled with treasured memories and enduring connections.
Herminio Roig will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for the love, support, and inspiration he provided to his family and loved ones. He embodied the true meaning of "grit," touching all who knew him with his strength and perseverance.
