Jeanette Cumbo Drew

Lois Jeanette Cumbo Drew, 91, of San Mateo, passed from this life on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital.
Born in Clinch, Virginia, she resided in Putnam County since 1955 coming from Prater, VA.
Jeanette retired from Central States Bag Factory following 38 years as a quality control inspector. She was proud to be the first female to serve as President of the Paper Workers Union at Central States.
Jeanette was a member of the Woman's Club of Palatka, the Palatka Garden Club and Woodmen of the World Society. She was also a Baptist. In her leisure time, Jeanette enjoyed quilting, crocheting and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Drew; a daughter, Lisa Smith; and 4 siblings.
Jeanette is survived by 3 sons, Brent Cumbo (Debbie), Gregory Cumbo and Layne Cumbo (Melody); a daughter, Diane Lassiter; a son-in-law, Harold "Rowdy" Smith; a brother, Thurman Vires (Fay); a sister, Marie; sister-in-law, Ann Viers; and numerous grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren.
Services celebrating Jeanette's life will be at 11a.m. Monday, September 1, 2025, at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor Travas Sheridan officiating. Burial will follow at Palatka Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
