Scott Buck Obituary


Scott Alan Buck, 62, of Palatka passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville following a brief illness.
Born in Jacksonville, Scott had lived most of his life in Palatka. He was a 1981 graduate of Palatka High School and had been employed by the Putnam County School District for the past 30 years as a heating and air conditioning technician and supervisor. He had also worked for Artic Air for 10 years. He was a member of St. James Independent Methodist Church.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, golf, vacationing in Dillard, Georgia, and rooting for the Gators. He was a good, kind, easy going, honest, and humble man.
He was preceded in death by his step-son, Levi Collette.
Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Janis "Jane" Buck; parents, Lyle "Bucky" and Jane R. Buck; a step-son, Trevor Glenn; step-daughters, Lacy Collette and Layla Niu; and son-in-law, Ming Niu; sister and brother-in-law, Andrea and Jeff Cook; four step-grandchildren; and a niece and a nephew.
Scott's Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Pastor John Schafer officiating. 
Interment will follow in Oak Hill East Cemetery.
