Thomas Pearson Obituary
Thomas Scott "Bubba" Pearson, 40, of Hawthorne, passed from this life on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at home surrounded by his family following a brief illness.
Thomas was born in Lubbock, Texas, and resided most all his life in the Hawthorne area. He was a 2002 graduate of Hawthorne High School and served as the President of the FFA Alumni Association until recently.
Thomas worked over 8 years as a foreman and mechanic with United Rentals. He previously worked with Beck Chrysler and Chevrolet in Starke, as well as Beck Chrysler in Palatka. Thomas enjoyed stock car racing, grilling out / smoking and fishing. He will also be remembered as a "Rabid" Georgia Bulldog fan.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Payton Pearson.
Thomas is survived by a son, Ace Cordell Pearson; and a daughter, Aubrey Marie Pearson, both of Hawthorne; his father and step-mother, Kent and Kelly Pearson of Hawthorne; his mother, Brenda Best of Alpharetta, GA; 2 sisters, Jessica Ogle (Todd) of Newport, NC, and Amanda Firnstahl of Yulee; a step-brother, Robby Jacobs (Kristin) of Gainesville; a step-sister, Ashley Jacobs of Hawthorne; and numerous aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews.
Services celebrating Thomas' life will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Eden Baptist Church in Hawthorne with Pastor Carley Pearson officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Lochloosa. The family will receive friends Monday (today) from 6-8 p.m. at Eden Baptist Church in Hawthorne.
Flowers are gratefully accepted or memorial donations in Thomas' name may be sent to a favorite charity.
