Austin Wuennenberg Obituary

On July 5, monorail driver Austin Wuennenberg, 21, died when another train backed into his own. He tried to back his train away, but it was too late. The Orange-Osceola medical examiner's office said there were no drugs in his system, and he died of multiple traumatic injuries.

When tragedy strikes and takes the life of our loved ones, we cry out with great sorrow. Be assured that your tears are not unnoticed by the Creator of life. Although your deep pain will not easily disappear, praying to God will bring comfort to you as you grieve. May the "Father of tender mercies" and the "God of all comfort" strengthen your faith and give you courage to face the days ahead. I am very sorry for your loss.

My family and I recently visited Disney during Mardi Gras vacation, and we were able to ride right in the front of the monorail with Austin. As safe as the monorail is at Disney, we are sure that your family never expected to hear such terrible news. Our condolences are with you.
