I have fond memories of Uncle Bernie while growing up on Long Island. He was my father's best man at his wedding. Our families spent many weekends and holidays together. After he moved to Florida, we would get together in western NC in the summer. I always enjoyed his personality and sense of humor.

May you now be at peace Uncle Bernie.

Patrick Maraist

October 14, 2008

The prayers of the entire Maraist Family go out to the Slean Family. Having just lost our own loving father two months ago, we know the difficulty, at times, of finding peace in God's Plans for each of us. But we have to do our best to find and hold onto that peace and acceptance. In the past few months St. Paul of the Cross and our community have lost some irreplaceable founding members. These special spirits have a similar special place in Heaven. Peace and Love, Patrick Maraist.
