Brenda Scott Obituary

Brenda Lee Scott
Brenda Lee Scott, age 65, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2021 surrounded by her friends and family while under the care of hospice in Atlantis, FL after a challenging 2-month-long battle with COVID19. Brenda was born September 27, 1955 in Mechanicsburg, PA to Sheila and Jacob Murdorf. Her family moved to Lantana when she was young, and she resided there until her death. Brenda graduated Lake Worth High School in 1973 and went to work for Winn-Dixie, where she made life-long friends. She then spent many years with the City of Lake Worth Beach Utilities, gaining the love and friendship of her coworkers and friends. Brenda also aided her husband in running his own irrigation company for 27 years, which brought them great pride. She loved the Town of Lantana, frequented the Old Key Lime House, enjoyed walks on the beach, and was an unwavering fan of the Miami Dolphins football team. She was predeceased by her mother Sheila Conway, father Jacob Murdorf, brothers Bill and Bob Murdorf, and her loving husband and high school sweetheart of 50 years, Reid Scott Sr. She is survived by her son Reid Scott II (Victoria), daughter Katy Soto (Luis), brother Barry Murdorf, grandchildren Allie, Reid III, and Evan, brother-in-law Daniel Scott, sisters-in-law Jane Murdorf and Melissa Scott, nieces Olivia, Audrey and Kristina, nephews Jason, Kane, Jacob, Aaron and Zachary, and loving dog, Levi. She is also survived by many friends and relatives. Always caring for others, Brenda's kindness touched many. Whether a recent acquaintance or one from years past, Brenda will be greatly missed by all. A Celebration of Life has been privately planned, please reach out to family for details. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Trustbridge Hospice in Brenda's name.

I am blessed that our paths crossed all those years ago. God knew I needed a sister, and you were there like family and I'm grateful. Thankful for our amazing memories and for our anytime, anywhere friendship that never faded. I will hold you in my heart forever. Thank you for being so loving, and for sharing your family with me. My condolences and love to Reid, Katy and the entire family.

I knew Brenda for only a couple of years. In those short 2 years, she left a lasting impression of a hard working, caring, and patient soul that, regardless of how busy she was, she would always stop everything to listen and help. She was truly one of those people that you couldn't find a bad thing to say about. She will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to her family and friends.
"Go Dolphins" Brenda!
