CARL EDWARD LINDSTROM Carl Edward Lindstrom, a prominent South Florida businessman, peacefully passed away from this life on July 21. He was 74 years old. Our hearts are deeply saddened as we share the death of a very special man and our loved one who fought his illness with honor and strength. Carl Edward Lindstrom was born on January 12, 1936 in Gary, IN, son of Edward and Florence Lindstrom. Carl was a proud graduate of Augustana College, Rock Island, IL, in 1958 with a BA in Accounting and served in the Air National Guard for five years. As a member of the Augustana basketball team for three years, Carl set school records and had his jersey retired as a senior. Carl's love for basketball and football continued to grow as a season ticket holder for the Miami Dolphins and Miami Heat and a loyal follower of his grandchildren's soccer, football and basketball games. Carl was the founder of Lindstrom Air Conditioning. As he became recognized as a leader in the industry, one of Carl's greatest accomplishments was creating a business that his three sons would take interest in and eventually own after Carl's retirement. Thirty five years later, Lindstrom Air Conditioning continues to grow and is recognized as a leader in the industry. During his ten years of retirement, he had become an avid boater traveling extensively with his wife and always with Bill, his stepson, as captain of their boat, to his favorite destinations throughout the Bahamas, especially the Rock House in Harbour Island. He enjoyed playing golf with his wife and friends at their weekend home at the Ocean Reef Club. Carl supported many charitable organizations and events in the Boca Raton community and enjoyed the new friendships he had made as a member of the Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club. Above all else, Carl loved his family and friends and leaves a wonderful legacy to all who loved him. His life was a model of how to enjoy life and he will continue to be a testimony to all. Characterized by his wit, passion for what he loved and most of all, integrity, Carl lived proud and lived well. Carl was predeceased by his eldest son, Brad Lindstrom. He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Lindstrom; son, Jeff (Michele) Lindstrom of Coral Springs; son, Doug (Nicole) Lindstrom of Parkland; stepson, Bill (Alejandra) Lippolis of Boca Raton; grandchildren, Megan, Erin, Kevin, Bradley and Heather Lindstrom; sister, Norma (Elman) Peterson of Palm Harbor, FL and sister, Nancy (John) Wojcik of Peotone, IL. Visitation will be Saturday, July 24, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, with a service to follow at 11:30 AM at Babione Funeral Home located 1100 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton; 561-395-8787.
