Family-Placed Obituary
CHRISTOPHER J. ONEY 'Chip' 41, was taken from his family, unexpectedly, as a result of an act of violence on January 23, 2008. Chip grew up in the Palm Beach area and has been a resident of Jacksonville for the last 10 years and was the owner and operator of CJO Specialized Transport. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 13 years in Special Forces and as a Navy Corpsman. His hobbies included fishing and boating, membership in the American Legion Post 316 and the St. Andrews Society. Chip was an avid Gators fan and was especially devoted to his family who will miss him dearly. Survivors include his father, Jim Oney (Kimberly) and mother, Charline Palladino; brother, Michael Andrew Oney; niece and nephew, Ella and Seth Oney; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends. A memorial service to celebrate Chip's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 28, in the Chapel of HARDAGE-GIDDENS CHAPEL HILLS FUNERAL HOME, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd. It feels like just yesterday, my love, we sat planning our future together. I still have no clue how to live here without you. You are still my life, still my heart, still my every breath, and will remain so until the day I am allowed to be with you again. Chip, I love you with every beat of my heart. I miss you beyond what words can describe. You live inside of me, inside of my memories of "us".
I was asked once, “If you could fall in love with your twin flame (your perfect soul mate) but knew it would only last for a short time due to a tragedy, would you choose not to knowing how deeply it would affect you?” I didn’t know how to answer this back then, but now it’s so simple. “The amount of time we had doesn’t matter, my Darling. What matters is that we were allowed to share our Love; together.” I love you too, my Chip, unconditionally. Yours eternally, Lyn.

It's been a year already and it seems like yesterday that you left us. I miss you terribly. It's not true what they say, it gets better. no it doesn't Time only makes you realize all the things you were .you still are. You are still missed by so many people. especially me your mom. I can't express the loss and the emptyness I feel. It will be that way for the rest of my life, I know that now. It is so hard to beleive that it has been almost a year since we all lost our Chip and he is still so very loved and missed by so many that loved him . To Char our love will always be with you as well . Your son Chip was a great friend and just a very caring man and he will never be forgotten .

My wonderful Chipper, What can a mother say when she loses her 1st born, abruptley and violently! I know I will never be the same. I was so lucky to have my son around me for most of his life. Chip was Inteligent,funny,kind, determined, and full of life. Chip was wonderful with animals and children, he loved them and they would love him right back. I can't even express how much I miss him, I can't even think of a future without him. I love you and miss you ,oooh, sooo much. I will see you again. Your loving, and heartbroken mom.

Char and Beth its hard to beleive its been a month since Chip was taken from all of us in such a very bad way and we all still miss him and wish he was here , I miss his smile and his funny ways he had . What a beautiful man that you all blessed us with. It was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to get to know Chip and some of his passions in life. He will be missed and remembered so lovingly by many. Chip had a huge heart and a giving soul, it is sad to see him gone so early in life. I told Chip at his service and I state it here, I appreciate him taking care of my sister's heart the way that he did and I will be forever greatful that her life was touched by your son and brother. Charline and Mike - I was so shocked to read about Chip's passing. I cant even begin to imagine what you both must be feeling right now. I am so sorry for your loss, he was a wonderful person.
