Cynthia Andrews Obituary

Two women walking the Singer Island Bridge were killed by a hit and run driver early Sunday.

The women, Cynthia Andrews, 49, of 1607 39th Street in West Palm Beach and Linda Taylor, 56, of 5412 Pinewood Avenue, also in West Palm Beach, were walking eastbound on the bridge at about 6 a.m. this morning when they were struck from behind by a teal GMC Suburban, the Palm Beach County Sherrif's Office said.

The driver of the SUV abandoned the vehicle a short distance from the crash site and ran, investigators said. Deputies said Andrews fell from the bridge and was found on the tiny beach below.

Hello to Cynthia's friends and family! Cynthia and her niece, Kisa, have been on my mind for many, many years! It actually seems longer than 7 years since she and her dear friend, Linda, lost their lives in such a tragic way. I remember seeing the accident on the news and couldn't believe it when I recognized Cynthia's picture and name! It had been several years since we had been in touch. Cynthia rented an apartment from me at Tiffany Lakes. She worked so very, very hard delivering papers at wee hours of the morning and driving the school bus! How lucky those kids were that had "Cynthia" as their bus driver! I was always so impressed, when I visited Cynthia, of how nice she had her apartment decorated. I know family meant a great deal to her with all the pictures she had displayed. I met her niece, Kisa, on several occasions. You could feel the great love between the two of them! I've wanted to reach out to Kisa for a very, very long time to give her a small gift in honor of her Aunt. I never had children of my own, but have two nieces that I was also very close to as Cynthia was to her's. Kisa, I hope you read this post and will contact me. I would love to see you! Your Aunt Cynthia, as you know, was a very, very special person! I can see her big beautiful smile as I think of her. She called to let me know she was engaged to a guy at Pratt & Whitney and said she was going to send me an invitation to the wedding! She was so, so very happy! If any of Cynthia's family or friends read this post and can tell me how I can get in touch with Kisa, I would really, really appreciate it! My name is Lynn and I can be reached at 561-281-3646. It would be my honor to give Cynthia's niece a small gift in her memory! Aso, I will always keep Cynthia's friend, Linda, in my thoughts when I'm reminded of Cynthia's kindness and inspiration! God bless!

I did not know Ms. Andrews, but I extend my deepest sympathies to her loved ones. I feel saddened beyond words that she was taken from her family and friends in such a tragic way. I understand Ms. Andrews was an avid walker who enjoyed the beautiful surroundings in her Florida hometown. God has a special place for her now, where she can forever walk in peace and in grace.

Ms. Andrews really was the best bus diver I've had. If only she were still alive to make my day like everyday. She was cool like that. I didn't find out she died until I had noticed our substitute bus driver had been our bus driver for 4 days. Everyone at Christa McAulliffe middle school who rode her bus were a little bit worried about what had happened. Then it was in a palm beach post newspaper I had found in my 2nd period that I found out about her death. I cried the whole day. When I told the other riders about it they cried too. Even the guys! I just dont get why god picked her at that time. I pray to the lord that her family will find a way to move on!! I end my words by saying: "good bye my favorite bus driver"

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

It was very hard hearing that she moved on but at the same time there was a since of relief because the driver I no always have and always will be loved, there was a lot of conversations, that me, and Mrs.cynt shared at 5:45am, our buses where side by side she drove 406, and I drove 407.She kept her bus so clean, she'd sweep an talk even if she was on her cell phone. I'll miss Mrs.Cynt, And will continue to keep the family in my prayers.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

The bible tells us "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". There are times that we have trials and tribulations that we ourselves can't control, and this is one of those times. However, ask the Lord for comfort, ask him for protection and most of all ask for peace in the midst of a storm. He's known to be faithful and just. I say to the grieving family, its okay to cry, its okay weap, but weaping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning.

To the Family of Cynthia (Money), Weve known Money for almost 40 years. The last time I remembered Cynt was seeing her at Ms. Omelia Carter's funeral about two years ago, I remember asking her to take my sister home for me. We laughed when she said "How do you know I'm going that was? She was so kind and had a beautiful smile. She and her family were always around Bozo's Paint Shop where her Aunt Verdell and cousin Tony lived. Growing up with Money, Eddie, and Pam was fun. Both of our families shared a mutual respect one another.

Oh my God..i loved Mrs.Andrews!
Four years ago...i was in sixth grade...and she was my bus driver.
She was the nicest bus driver you'd ever meet! She was always like "Hey baby, have a good day in school" or "Keep up the straight A's honey". She truely was an inspiration to me...just starting middle school and all...and she knew how to have fun...always puting on the radio and stuff. Even after i stopped taking the bus we'd chat, she always had an interest in my grades, boys, and other things, and sometimes i would bring her oranges. I only wish i was able to know her better. It was terrible hearing about her accident...since i usually dont keep up with the news...and just last week i walked to Christa McAuliffe hoping to say hi again...but i didnt know what happened. Ahh man,Mrs.Andrews was a truely beautiful person.I know she was very social and helped a lot of people. I'm really gonna miss her.

To Cynthia's family,

She was a wonderful person! Cyn was always friendly and always concerned about others. She cared so much for you, her family. Cyn would talk about her family with such warmth, always concerned and always loving. She was such a good friend to me -- looked out for me as a neighbor and helped when I needed help. I will miss her smile, her words of cheer. She was so happy about her future -- she was fixing up the house and wanted things to be right in every way. Always remember her as one who strongly moved forward through adversity and one who never gave up!

I met Cynthia 20 years ago when she worked for my father, Bob Judy. She loved our family and our family loved her....she was one of our family. I saw Cynthia again for the first time in years at Publix when my father was dying from a brain tumor. Her smile and words gave me encouragement. It was as if I had seen her yesterday, not 10 years before (at his 60th Birthday). My father loved her as much as I did and now she is with him. Now he has someone to make him laugh like she did me.

To The Andrews family
Words can never expresss the feeling of loss felt, but as Cynthia would always say "you'll be alright." I met Cynthia through my brother Don and we became friends right from the start. Cynthia was a kind, loving, caring person, always willing to help, no matter what. Never a sad face or negative comment. I was coming from my island home to a new country and she was my first friend, and we remained friends, despite our busy lives we always found time to talk. I will surely miss her and will never forget such a wonderful friend who made a difference in all our lives.

Cynthia:

Your bright smile, warm heart and your loving spirit will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know you in this life.

I know without a doubt that you are sitting at the foot of the throne laughing and talking with Jesus (in the same manner as you have laughed and talked with us here on earth countless times).

He is fortunate to have the precious Angel which he shared with us for so many years - you will be truly missed!

To Cynthia's family:

Always remember that weeping endureth for a night, but joy cometh in the morning for those who believe.

With solemn hearts,

Mrs. Andrew's was my bus driver for the past school year, and I can say without a single doubt that she has been the best bus driver I have ever had. She is one of those few people who I have met in life that always had a smile on their face and was always at a friendly disposition. She really made riding the bus an enjoyable experience and treated every student on her bus like her own children. Mrs. Andrews would wait every morning for regular riders if they were late, and even drive me and the few riders of the last bus stop to our houses on the way home. Everyone on the bus knew Mrs. Andrews by name and enjoyed her as our bus driver. I don't know of one person on Bus 66 that has ever complained about her once in the last two years. When they told us she had passed away no one could believe it, and it's still a shock even now. We all miss Mrs. Andrews and remember her every day riding the bus, because no other driver will ever compare to her.

To the Family of Cynthia Andrews:
Cynthia was a very genuine and caring person. I met Cynthia through the game of softball. She always had a kind word and a smile. May God give you the inner peace you need.

To Cynthia's Family

I met Cynthia through my dear friend Linda about three years ago. The three of us on many occassions would jog the bridge early on the weekends. I was given the chance to be with Cynthia and Linda one last time...Saturday morning before they were taken from us. I remember her telling me how she had just returned from Colorado and how beautiful it was there.

I feel so blessed to have had her in my life...I will miss her

Sometimes there are no perfect words, only thoughtful silences that softly whispers sounds of caring. A dear and long time friend.
