Darlene PRESLEY Obituary
Darlene B. Presley, of Lake Park, went home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2016 at Claire Bridge in Vero Beach. Darlene was born in 1926 in Crestline, KS to George and Otha (Lyerla) Bailey. She graduated from Pittsburg Teachers College in Pittsburg, KS and received her Masters Degree from Florida Atlantic University. She taught elementary school in Kansas and Arizona before moving to Lake Park, FL in 1965. She then taught at Jupiter Elementary until her retirement. She was a long time member of Tropical Sands Christian Church and a volunteer at the Lake Park Historical Society. Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, J.J. "Bill" Presley in 1994, and her son, Gerald Presley, in 2014. She is survived by her son, James (Donna) Presley M.D. of Vero Beach, FL, daughter-in-law Susan Racicot Presley of Bartlett, TN, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews. A grave side service will be held at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens in West Palm Beach on March 9 at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Tropical Sands Christian Church in Palm Beach Gardens. Arrangements are under the care of Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce, FL.

Marilyn Miller E-Mailed me about the death of Darlene Presley. I was very sorry to hear this. I have many fond memories of her when she was the typing teacher in College High School. I was in her class and received A's from her. Little did I know then that I would eventually marry a relative of hers, Floyd Byerl Lyerla. I will always remember her with fond memories.
