David Schapiro Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

DAVID SCHAPIRO DAVID SCHAPIRO, 76, of Boca Raton, FL, formerly of NY & NJ, died peacefully at home with his family by his side on Friday, September 12, 2008. Born and raised in the Bronx, Dave moved to Long Island where two important things happened: he met his beloved wife, Rita, & he began his long and happy career with IBM. He moved his family to NJ in 1970 when he was transferred to Franklin Lakes and he and his wife moved to Boca when IBM relocated him again in 1985. Known as "the mayor" on his street, Dave will be missed by family and many friends and neighbors who loved him over many years. He is survived by his wife, Rita, who loved him every moment of their 54 years together, his daughter, Stacey, who cherished him, her husband, Russ, and his grandchildren, Michael and Marc, who adored their PopPop. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations made in his memory to Hospice of Palm Beach County would be appreciated. Dear Rita, I will long remember the many convivial late afternoons with you and Dave, Bobbie and Greg and the dogs in the front yards at Pine Needle Terrace. Dave was the most convivial of us all. With sympathy and warm wishes,
