Family-Placed Obituary

DAVID W. SIMAN 77, of Jupiter, FL for the past 19 years, formerly of Elizabeth, Clark and Edison, NJ. He passed away on February 17, 2008 in Boca Raton. Mr. Siman served during the Korean Conflict in the US Army Counter Intelligence Corps. in Germany. He was an International Marketing Executive in the Pharmaceutical industry. He established the Susan Ellakim Siman Scholarship fund for Sephardic Studies at NYU in loving memory of his wife and her culture. Mr. Siman was the publisher and editor of the Sephardic newsletter Ke Haber now available through the Library of Congress. He lectured and taught the culture of the Sephardim (The Jews of Spain). Mr. Siman was a guest speaker at the 2002 UNESCO Conference in Paris. He served as president and active member of the Sephardic Federation of Palm Beach County. Beloved husband of the late Susan Ellakim Siman, loving father of Sherry Siman Maliken (Bruce), Gabrielle Siman (Russell Zimmerman), Lisa Siman Charbonneau and Jennifer Siman Skula (Roger). Cherished grandfather of David, Max, Daniel, Jacob and Joshua. Devoted brother of Shirley Grant and Barbara (Charles) Strause. Funeral services are today, Wednesday February 20, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at RUBIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 7340 Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach, with the interment to follow at Lakeside Memorial Park -Miami. Contributions in his memory may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue -West Palm Beach, FL 33407 or The Susan Ellakim Siman Scholarship Fund for Sephardic Studies at NYU.
