MYERS, Dennis O.
Mr. Dennis O. Myers, age 74 of Rockwood, Tennessee passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015 at his residence with his family by his side. Mr. Myers was a Member and Deacon of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rockwood, Tennessee. Mr. Myers was a 1963 Graduate of Western Maryland College with a Degree in Chemistry. He was a Retired Laboratory Director with 30 years' service with Palm Beach County, Florida Water & Air Pollution Laboratories. Mr. Myers was very accomplished in his work; his level of expertise in Particulate Analysis raised the Bar and was innovative to set the goals and standards for Air Pollution Controls across the Country. His Dedication to his work was nationally recognized. Dennis was a Member of the Union Lodge #38 Masonic Lodge; He was a Past-Master of Northwood Lodge #303, He belonged to the Scottish Rite KCH Valley of Lake Worth, Florida; He was a Member of the Kerbela Shrine Temple in Knoxville, Tennessee, and a Van Driver and Past-President of the Kerbela Roane Shrine Club. He was an active member of the Walden Ridge Antique Car Club, Oak Ridge Sportsman Club, American Mountain Men, a Volunteer and Reenactor of the Fort Southwest Point in Kingston, Tennessee. Mr. Myers was very much enjoyed Traveling, Hunting, Fishing, Scuba Diving, Antique Cars, Woodworking, Knife and Bow Making. His Greatest Love was his Grandchildren. Mr. Myers was a Devoted and Loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather who leaves behind a cherished memory. He was a Friend to all who knew him. Dennis was preceded in death by Parents: Guy and Helen Myers;
Step-brother: Melvin "Pete" Bostian. He is survived by: Wife of 52 years: Linda Myers of Rockwood, Tennessee; Son: Douglas Myers (Debbie) of Port Charlotte, Florida; Daughter: Dr. Lynne Berry (Joe) of Villa Rica, Georgia; 5 Grandchildren: Taylor Berry, Emma Myers, Joey Berry, Jordyne Berry, and Olivia Myers; Sister: Betty Myers (Clarence "Sam") of Emmetsburg, Maryland; Brother-in-law: Dr. Dale Ensor (Ginger) of Cookeville, Tennessee; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Many Friends. Arrangements are as follows: Thursday, August 20, 2015 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rockwood, Tennessee, Family will receive Friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm; Shriner Honor Guard will observe Honors during the Visitation. Masonic and Funeral Services will follow at 7:00pm. Union Lodge #38 will present the Masonic Service, Rev. Kara Foster, along with Pastor Jill Seagle will officiate the Funeral. Private Family Burial will be at a Later Date. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Children's Shriner Hospital c/o Kerbela Temple, 315 Mimosa Ave., Knoxville, TN 37920 or First Christian Church, 328 W. Rockwood St., Rockwood, TN 37854. Evans Mortuary of Rockwood, Tennessee is serving the Family of Mr. Dennis O. Myers.
