Don McIntosh Obituary


Don G. McIntosh was born August 14, 1948. he passed from this life officially, on December 4, 2020. He was a long time resident of Wellington, FL and moved to Chandler, AZ in 2019. He was the first born son of the late Bernice L. (Froemke) McIntosh and Benjamin McIntosh. He was also preceded in death by his brother Rex McIntosh. He is survived by his two daughters Lisa McIntosh Brasee and Lori McIntosh Currens as well as five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, his sister Diane McIntosh Whalen, brother Roger McIntosh and nephews Rex McIntosh, Jr. and Ariel McIntosh.
Don was very proud of his career in the United States Navy. He started his career in the Navy Seabees which makes up a building and construction battalion that is deployed globally for various types of construction. He retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. During the time he served, one of his assignments was to work at Camp David during Jimmy Carter's and Ronald Reagan's terms as President. He worked hard and was awarded many honors, certificates of achievement and commendations. After his retirement from the Navy he enjoyed his job as a building official for the State of Florida. He made many friends and kept in touch after his retirement. Don enjoyed golfing and watching sports on television and he was an avid writer. He loved to learn new things and kept up on current events. Don's wishes were to be buried at sea. Arrangements have been made for a burial at sea to take place in the Atlantic Ocean at a future date in 2021.

Don and I served in the Sea Bee's at various duty stations. We were close friends from active duty and many years after retirement in second careers. I missed him when he moved to AZ and now that he has passed on. He was one of my closest friends and will miss him but will remember the memories he provided. Travel well, SeaBee

Asa former coworker of Don he would always have share something he has learned throughout his life journeys. He will be greatly missed not only as a coworker but as what I would call a friend.
