Eris Layer Obituary

ERIS DEMETRA LAYER Age 90, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida passed away Thursday morning August 28, 2003 at Waterford. Mrs. Layer was born October 3, 1912 in Bridgetown, Barbados, B.W.I. Daughter of the late Richard Preston King and Lillie Brooker King. She had been a resident of the Palm Beaches since 1970 coming from Bergenfield, New Jersey. Mrs. Layer was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church of Tequesta and worked in the Pennies for Heaven Thrift Church Store for many years. She was preceded 1984 in death by her husbands: Bruno D. Raffaelli in September 1960 and Jack Layer in 1984. Survivors include her devoted children: Joan B. Randall and husband Donald T. of Lost Tree Village, North Palm Beach, FL and Richard R. Raffaelli and wife Judith of Savannah, GA; step-children: Gerri Maggiolo, Jack Layer, Jr. of Bradenton, FL, Karlene Scott and husband Robert of Wayne, N.J.; her sisters: Phyllis Skinner of Barrie, Ontario, Canada; Elsie Spencer of Antigua, B.W.I., and Carmen King of Barbados, B.W.I.; her grandchildren: Peter J. Aldrich, Gregory R. Raffaelli, and Deanna C. Magrane; six great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. A memorial celebration will be held 11:30 A.M. Saturday August 30, 2003 at the Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 400 Seabrook PD, Tequesta with Rev. Wendy William as celebrant. Those planning an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers are asked to consider the American Heart Association, 1301 S. Olive Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33401 in Mrs. Layer's memory.
