My deepest condolences to the entire Merkert and Dupre families. I was in Mr. Merkert's employ from 1970 thru 1985 and he was one of the most personable gentlemen
I had ever met.

Gene was a true gentlemen, he always had time to chat with all of his people, from all of the ranks at Food Enterprises, whether you were an exec. or the "Mail Room" he always had time for you, a great gentleman, I had the pleasure to work with him for thirty years at F.E. before it came Merkert Enterprises. May he rest in peace, God Bless him and his family.

Our condolences go out to the Merkert family during this tough time. My wife Linda & I both worked for Mr.Merkert in Canton, MA in the 1990's. We both greatly appreciate all he did for us during that time. He will be sadly missed

May God keep him in a safe place. He was a special person who went out of his way to introduce himself to anyone that worked at Merkert which I made a big impression on me when I worked there. Nice man.
