George D'Alessio Obituary

GEORGE J. D'ALESSIO 69, of Juno Isles, FL, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. Born in New Haven, CT, he had been a resident of Juno Isles for 17 years, coming from North Haven, CT. Prior to retirement, he was a Certified Master Baker with Country Home Bakery in Atlanta, GA. He previously was the owner of Sugar and Spice Bakery in North Haven for 20 years, and created award winning wedding cakes, including the 145;Fountain of Love'. He was President of the Connecticut Baker's Assoc. Survivors include his wife, Dolores D'Alessio of Juno Isles; his daughter, Noel and her husband, Louis T. Kanitsch, Jr. of Tequesta, FL; his son, George W. D'Alessio of Juno Isles; his granddaughter, Georgia Kanitsch of Tequesta; a stepsister; and a stepbrother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1PM Saturday, December 7, 2002 at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, North Palm Beach, FL. Those who wish may make contributions to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 10970 SR 703, North Palm Beach, FL 33408; and ARC - Association for Retarded Citizens, 1201 Australian Ave., Riviera Beach, FL 33404. I remember Sugar And Spice Bakery and Restaurant in Montowese section of North Haven, Connecticut. His slogan was "Let George Do It" Best hard rolls.
