Your memory to me is one of kindness and joy and caring. Your art was a gift from God just as you were. Our friendship was short but you will never be forgotten, Gerry. May we see each other again. Rest in peace, my sweet friend.

Dear Gerry:

So, you escaped our grasp, but not our hearts. There never will be a day you don't come up in coversation, because so much of who you are you shared with everyone. Your humor and wit, your hopes and dreams, your love. I'm go grateful to have had you be like a brother to me for the past 25 years. Barely 18, I met David and till this day we still laugh about his trying to figure out if I was jewish or not, because, "you know the picture of the guy with the beanie on his head - in my living room", The Pope! You laughed so hard and we all did for so many years about so many things. When I was young in New York and met you for the first time in the gallery where you worked in Brooklyn, I could see that you and David were polar opposites, but immediately recognised you closeness. I admired your relationship with David, your sisters and your parents. I was blessed to be a part of that. I was comforted by you and your words, as you built me up and always encouraged me and I always felt good about myself in your presence - for that I thank you. I'll miss the hello's, but will never say goodbye. Godspeed for now Gerry with a "G" until we laugh again.

All my love

My uncle Gerry was an awsome, loving and funny person. Its hard to believe he is gone. I'll miss him so much. I feel so bad becuase i didnt get to see him a lot. But I have lots of memories of him and vinnie. His oh so lovable dog. Uncle Gerry brought laughter and smiles into everyones life. Even though he would get upset with us kids.. he would never get to angry. I loved his paintings. They where always bright and shining. Just like him. I wish things where different I wish i could say Bye to him before he left. But in his heart he knows how much i loved him and I will always love him. Uncle Gerry I love you and I will always rememebr you. *Just remember the good time, remember all the times we've had.*

Gerry was a Great Brother we had so much fun together, picking out items for his house that are way to big. He had lots of Big Items. His home was is castle.. He also loved plants, Big ones. We looked all over for the special ones that would fit his big plants, but you know Gerry it had to be just right. I wake up every morning missing you more each day. The Hole in my Heart will not heal for a very long time.My tears I cry everyday are from both saddness and joy. When I think of such a terific person like you. Everyone you knew nows that smile of yours. I will pray for you and our family for the rest of my life. I know that you are up in heaven with Aunt Rita, sitting by a pool and having ice tea. No more pain for you my dear brother no more pain. I will see you one day and the first thing I am going to do is give my Big Brother a Kiss. I Miss You and Love You VERY MUCH . Love your sister Margaret

To my precious friend~

How much I miss you already. You made each day of "work" so much more. It was you seeing normal, little things in such a funny way, making them more beautiful with your brush, turning frustration and exhaustion into laughter, not wanting to stop. Loving the music you loved on the radio, teasing each other but never too far. The world is less beautiful now.

You were a special friend to me and I thank God for your life and the little bit I got to share. Your laughter will always be in my heart. Your friendship I will never find again. Thank you Gerry for brightening my life. Rest in peace my sweet friend, until we meet again.

Always, Jan
