Gertrude SMITH Obituary
Gertrude Marie Smith, 93 years old, of West Palm Beach, FL, died peacefully on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Mrs. Smith move to the Palm Beaches in 1977 after retiring from Readers Digest Magazine in New York. She has been a member of the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of West Palm Beach for forty years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and a friend to all. She is survived by three sons, Walter Heatley, Dewey Heatley, Jr. (Sue), and Joseph M. Heatley (Geri); three daughters, Audrey Garvin, Carolyn Hariston, and Cynthia Cogdell (Robert); eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 1111 36th Street, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. Friends may visit with the family an hour prior to services. Interment will take place on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ocala, FL.
